The Ming Tomb

This was pretty much a blah sight. All the way out into the wilderness and all we saw was an empty tomb, it was a pretty depressing sight inside. But then again, maybe coz we were running on a tight schedule (as do all tour groups), we had to practice some touch-and-go.

The Ming Tomb is the final resting place of 13 of the Ming emperors. The site was chosen for its very good fengshui, good flow of positive energy i guess. Then i wonder, what do the dead need the luck for?

Spread across huge acres of land, only 3 out of the 13 are open for viewing. So we went into the "Ding Ling" chamber, though i heard the "Chang Ling" chamber is the most impressive out of the lot.

The Exterior

Once inside, the 阴气 was so thick in the air. You know that kind of eerie aura that follows you around. But then again, we are in a tomb, so what do I expect right!

The throne for the dead

It is said the ridge of mountains along the perimeter serves to protect the dead from evil spirits. Yah, Fengshui nonsense.

I would have rather much enjoyed the walk outside than in the underworld. But alas, no time for that.
