To the land of the golden beer

Ah, its the end of the year yet again. Lots of celebrations, lots of fun, lots of love. Christmas, birthdays, new year.. Happy Holidays to all the lovelies out there :)

Time for some reflections! 2009 in a glance has been a year with a tad too many adrenaline pumping excitements. I must say, it has been one of the best year i had in a long long time. Lots happened, i played, i traveled, i saw, i experienced. If i had to do it all over again, ok maybe i wont do it all over again. we ought to always look forward to a better year ahead right!

In 2009, one of the best trips i made was that to Tsingdao along with Frae! There, i bet most of u didnt even realise i went away for a short retreat to the land of the tsingdao beer. Needless to say, the beer was good, so was the sun, sand and sea.

We had such a great time! Everything about Tsingdao was close to my idea of a perfect getaway! The weather was nice, the people were friendly, and the streets were clean! All our photos turned out better than expected! You will see.

Tsingdao, just a short 6 hours away from beijing via the bullet train!

Tsingdao

So you might notice, the distinctive old european charm weaving through the streets of Tsingdao. Its in the buildings, the cobbled streets, the churches and the tree-lined avenues. Traces of the German legacy.

St. Michael's Church

Quaint shops line up the streets leading right up to the St. Michael's Church. And it was here that we met the nice lady boss who was so thrilled to have us around her shop.

Much of our time at Tsingdao was spent strolling along the waterfront, past the many beaches. We took a good 3 hours or so covering beach no. 1 right up to beach no. 2 (seriously, their beaches are named numerically), laughing ourselves silly, making up for lost time. Nothing beats walking alongside the cousin :)
