There is a day, every year, where we feel the sudden surge of national pride. We feel like we have to proclaim to the whole street that we are singaporeans. On this day, we want to be recognized as singaporeans, and if it means having to be caught dead wearing a flag, we do it anyway. We sing our lungs crazy, scream ourselves silly and then have so much fun insanely. This is the day we celebrate our national day (9 August).
So on the 9th of August, Sing-ers at bj gathered at the Singapore Embassy to celebrate our 44th year of independence.
44 Years and Counting
Wearing it proudly
I thought it was very thoughtful of them to have the fun packs dhl-ed over. We were able to catch the live telecast of the parade and wave the same silly heart-stick along to the tune of "home".
And i think we all really came only for the food. And we were not disappointed! We had hainanese chicken rice, bak kut teh, laksa, rojak, sashimi and every other thing singaporean (ok except for the sushi and sashimi)!

Now i know where all the cute singaporean kids are. They are here in bj. Dont you just want to pinch their face!
My attention-deprived classmates went into a little frenzy when they found out that channel news asia was here to film the action in bj. It was non-stop screaming, squeezing and waving to the cameras. All for that one second of fame. I still love them nonetheless.
Proud to be a singaporean! haha!
