Green Plains and Blue Skies

I think nothing can describe better than photos photos photos! Ok, the grass was not green green, but the sky was really sky blue, unlike the beige-y greyish beijing sky! And air never smelt so sweet before, except for the occassional whiffs of horse dung.

Sheep's intestine left to dry
Oh no that poor sheep. We might have eaten its leg for dinner. So anyway, it cost around S$300 plus for a whole sheep and around S$80 just for its leg! But because in Mongolia, you got to try their įƒ¤įžŠč‚‰, my table chose the cheaper option and went for its legs! The portion was huge! It serves like 10 peeps! I've got to say, its the best meat dish i have eaten in mongolia, and i think xq liked it better than i did.

Horses galloping home

The new-aged Mongolians
To kill time, me, xq and some of our other tour friends went horse riding. There were several routes to choose from, and of course we chose the cheaper one (S$40). It also meant a shorter route. And oh boy were we glad we made that decision, coz by the end of 3 hours, we were screaming for help. I swear i now have abs to boast of. Haha, and biceps, triceps, u name it. You know what, we figured i-gallop is a worthy investment. Go buy one now!

Its funny how similar horses are to humans. When it is time to work, they drag and they moan and they just refuse to move. But when they know its time to go home, they rush to the finish line without waiting for you. And thats how i got my abs. On my return trip, my horse wouldnt stop galloping. I was bouncing and bouncing, ass hitting the saddle, organs going all out of place, and it just wouldnt stop! Haha, but it was fun. The group i rode with is a very spontaneous bunch of people. They would break into songs, singing songs of the grass plains. Something about the rolling hills, and luscious green fields.

We rode on for about 2 hours and then stopped over at a little house where we were served some really delightful milk candies.

Is the milk candy safe to eat?Sounds exciting! Do you think 'old bones' can take to the plains of Mongolia? Like the carefree life and openness but don't know if can get used to spartan lifestyle! Can try horse-riding, though. Get some vigorous exercise, that is, if can come back in one piece.

haha there were a few old folks in my group. but then again, they are from china, so they are used to living in this kind of conditions. haha and they went horse riding too. for them, their horse were tied to the guide's horse in front, so no galloping for them.

Wah! So envious! One more reason to go to Beijing.
This is so much more 'civilised' than what I've heard.
Mel, can we make it a twosome? Spring or autumn?
Marie, dearest, where art thou to next?
