The City

Rise and Shine! Woke up at 6 am for a shot like this, and it was definitely worth the early morning cold rush!
What was left to see of Mongolia could all be found within the capital city of inner mongolia. And that was where we spent our last day, in 呼和浩特. Although the surrounding grassland is a definite draw to mongolia, still there are architectures and the bustling city life not to be missed in the city center. 呼和浩特 kind of reminded me of Bangkok, but only much cleaner, lesser congestion and slightly more developed. Developed only because this is how their national museum looks like:

Larger than life.Twice the size of the esplanade.

The mongolian language (first 3 left rows) astounds me.It is just vertical strings of drawings differentiated by the horizontal lines cutting across every now and then.
I am not into temples, so when we next went to 大昭寺 i wasnt paying attention to the guide most of the time. Spent my time snap snapping! Ok but what i know of the temple is that it is the largest buddhist temple in the city and that it was built in the 15th century. Yup so its an old old man. And from the little snippets that i caught from our tour guide, the devotees going to the temple worship emperor kangxi! strange.

And thats me!
Up next, 王昭君's memorial museum. I am really bad with china's history, so its no surprise that i only recently found out that 王昭君 is one of the 4 great beauties who married off to some guy in mongolia! When i heard that story, going to this museum only just became more interesting! Its a pretty place, but with only 1 hour at hand, there wasnt much we could explore.

And thats our pretty lady
The mountain we had to climb You know this is nothing compared to the great wall of china, so when i was panting when i took this shot, i got a bit worried. I think training for the great wall climb has to start soon!
At the peak

And that marked the last i would be seeing of mongolia
