Coz michael phelps shopped there during his short stay in bj, i had to too.
Silk Street is still by far the best shopping destination for the girls and me (I think that should explain our frequent visits there). Its both the challenge in haggling for the best price and the variety of goods available that appeal to us pro at shopping now. Silk street is not a street, but actually a building on its own. A building with many levels of shopping. Feeling the excitement already? The good thing about silk street is that all the barang barangs are neatly organized into different levels. We have like bags and shoes on the basement level, clothes on the first and so on.
Its tricky stuff maneuvering through the crowd of shoppers with store keepers stretching out their hands to pull in the unsuspecting tourist. Luckily for us girls, we are born with yellow skin and hence do not appear as attractive to the store keepers.
Along the way, we picked up a few shopping tips that are vital to having a trouble-free shopping experience. Never maintain eye contact with the store keeper. Ask for the price only if you are interested. When caught in a situation, always run.
Bei yi's favourite tea shop at Silk Street
Love the way she brews tea. Very therapeutic.
