Jing Shan Park

Its amazing how mother nature works, how each season is ushered in with such acute precision. 2 days ago, it was perfect, and i couldnt wish for a better weather. Yesterday, beijing was swept up in blurs of pasty brown, hoods had to be pulled out to prevent further disarray of the already messy mane. And today, oh my goodness today, i almost died. Frost bite in october. so i guess the days of winter is very close to home.

But its still a wonder how the wind must first come before winter comes. There almost always is a period of strong wind before the cold arrives. Or maybe the wind brought along the cold air from up north. I dont know, never question God's work. So this morning, i walked out to a pretty sight of clumps of fallen leaves swept into piles that reached up sky high. Its amusing watching the neighbourhood dogs diving nose first into the bed of crisp leaves. I was almost tempted into following suit. sigh such simple pleasures of life.

Here's a little trip that me and chiao made during summer. Jing Shan Park, situated just behind the forbidden city. Its also where the last ming emperor unceremoniously ended his life by hanging himself from a tree in the park during a rebel attack.

On a really clear day, the top of the highest peak in the park should offer a paranomic view of the whole palace, which unfortunately we were unable to enjoy.

En route back home, we took a less traveled road along the perimeters of the forbidden city. Love that old misty look.

And because we could walk no further, we flagged down help!
